Foreword
This website was launched by sailors of the "Helgoland-Edinburgh-Race" for all the sailors in the "Helgoland-Edinburgh-Race". We want to establish strong links between those who are united by something particular.
Everybody will experience this race in a different way. Some will have a worthwhile experience and some will reach their limits, but all are connected by having taken part in the same event. It enforces a sense of belonging together if you can talk to people who know what's going on. You don't split up once you arrive in Scotland. You enjoy a feeling of togetherness and you will love Scottish hospitality and friendship, in the RFYC clubhouse, when touring in the Highlands or partying with your competitors during the "Scottish Night".
Many travel reports and even poems have been written over the years. We have collected them all and now present them in this forum. You can imagine that sailing to Scotland will be more than just participating in a race.
Sponsors will come and sponsors will go, the name of the race might change but for us, the sailors, it will remain the "Edinburgh - Regatta" (the "Helgoland - Edinburgh - Race").
